For the first time in school history, UNT Dallas College of Law is ranked among the top 20 moot court programs in the nation.

A meaningful milestone for our advocacy program and for the students, coaches and faculty behind it.

Last week, students had the opportunity to spend a day engaging with the Dallas community and learning from organizations working on issues of service, access and community development.

Thank you to the MLK Jr. Community Center, Miles of Freedom, Forest Forward, Bonton Farms and everyone who helped to make this a welcoming experience for our students and sharing your work.

Great tips for current law students and those preparing to begin their legal education as we approach finals. Thank you to Andrew Brown, president of the , for taking the time to speak with us and share why treating law school like a 9–5 schedule has helped him stay organized and focused.

UNT Dallas College of Law closed out the Houston regional rounds of the National Moot Court Competition with strong results. Andrew Brown, Victoria B. Saucedo, and Hamilton Hayers advanced to the final round, earned second place, received Best Brief, and qualified for the national rounds in January. The National Moot Court Competition, hosted by the New York City Bar Association, is the longest-running competition of its kind.

They are the first UNT Dallas College of Law team to advance to the national rounds in this competition. The team competed against programs from across Texas, including SMU, Texas A&M, the University of Houston, St. Mary’s, and Baylor.

The UNT Dallas College of Law will also be represented at the national level in three areas of advocacy this January: the ABA Labor and Employment Mock Trial Competition, the ABA Negotiations Competition, and the National Moot Court Competition.

These results show the commitment our students bring to their advocacy training and the steady growth of opportunities in this area at the College of Law. Please join us in recognizing the team’s achievement.
