A moment of worship, testimony, and a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness.

This summer, DBU's Dean of the Bush College of Education, Dr. Hagan, joined DBU student London Smith in Washington, D.C., for Rededicate 250, a gathering on the National Mall centered on prayer, worship, and a call to rededicate the nation to God.

For Dr. Hagan, the day brought Hebrews 12 to mind: “since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses.” Surrounded by pastors, political leaders, nonprofit leaders, students, worship leaders, and thousands of others gathered with one purpose, she was struck by the sight of so many people united in praise to Jesus Christ.

For London, Rededicate 250 was the culmination of a deeply personal journey of seeing God’s faithfulness throughout the past year. On July 4, 2025, in the middle of difficult circumstances, she chose to trust in God’s power, sovereignty, and goodness, holding onto the truth that He is a good Father.

Months later, before she even knew she would be part of Rededicate 250, London felt the Lord impress the words “fear not” on her heart. Then, in April, while writing in her journal that God could provide far beyond anything she could imagine for her life, she received the call inviting her to share part of her testimony in Washington, D.C., on May 17th, her 20th birthday.

“Each moment this year that has led up to Rededicate 250 has been miraculously orchestrated by God,” London shared. “His message to us, His children, is that He loves us deeply, and above every other thing, He is a good, good Father.”

One of the most meaningful moments came as Chris Tomlin sang “Good Good Father.” London looked around at thousands of people worshiping together and was reminded that, despite every difference, believers are united as one body with the same King and Creator.

Dr. Hagan was especially moved by watching London share her story with strength and humility, describing her as an example of God’s transformational work in the lives of DBU students.

Dr. Hagan described the day in one word: “Movement,” praying that Rededicate 250 would continue to fan the flame of revival across America.

London chose the word “Glory.” “None of this is because of us. It is all because of Him,” London said. “Our God gets all of the glory.”

As they start the Fall semester, they both carry with them a renewed confidence in God’s Word, His goodness, and the call to live boldly for Christ wherever He leads.

Before the first Chapel of the semester, every seat was covered in prayer.

This morning, members of the DBU Family gathered in Pilgrim Chapel to pray over the students who would soon fill each row, asking the Lord to use this semester to encourage hearts, deepen faith, and draw students closer to Him.

What a meaningful way to begin another semester on University Hill.

SWAT Service Day gave our newest Patriots the chance to step off campus and spend the morning serving throughout the DFW Metroplex!

From lending a hand to simply showing up where help was needed, students got to serve alongside one another and meet some of the people and organizations that make our community special.

We’re so thankful for students who choose to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus!

Not every college student gets invited to the President’s house during their first week on campus.

As part of SWAT, DBU 2030 had the chance to visit Dr. Adam Wright and Mrs. Wright at the President’s Home, spend time with fellow students, and hear a little more about the heart behind DBU.

It’s one of those moments that helps turn a new campus into a place that already feels like home.
