Looking to connect with the Dallas art scene? Want to support budding student artists? Join us for CROSSOVER opening on Friday, September 11, 2026 6pm-9pm at SPACE at Adolphus Tower ⭐️💫 This event will be opening for a creative all-weekend extravaganza with the Downtown Dallas Arts & Music Festival!🎉🎨🎶

Drawing from the Design Discipline programs at Dallas College, CROSSOVER showcases work by emerging student designers, visual artists, and interdisciplinary creatives working across graphic and interior design, motion media, fashion, installation, new media, and related fields. Together, these varied approaches demonstrate how experimentation, collaboration, and applied creative practice can move across disciplines, transforming ideas developed in the classroom into work that engages contemporary audiences and professional environment.

At the heart of CROSSOVER is the idea of creative exchange: between disciplines, between education and professional practice, and between Dallas College and the communities it serves.

Catch a demo with Professor Chong Chu where he presents the outcome of his extensive oil painting research! Titled, “RESEARCHING ELEMENTS OF POINT, LINE, AND PLANE”, the exhibition is open to view at Brookhaven’s Studio Gallery & Art Lab, room D128.

🔹 Exhibition Period: August 24 - September 18, 2026
🔹 Demo Date: August 26 - September 17, 2026
🔹 Demo Hours: Mon & Wed: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Thu: 12:00 PM 1:30 PM

“This study, based on the artistic philosophy of ‘Bitsallism,’ explores the interaction between the physical properties of paint and the structural lattice. It is a modern abstract art movement founded by Professor Chong Keun Chu in 2025, which connects Eastern and Western abstract art and has ties to Christian aesthetics and philosophy. The core concept is ‘light,’ which is the source of life forming the composition, and it involves exploring ‘brush strokes’ and ‘shallow space.’ Moving beyond simple representation, the artwork directly records the intrinsic trajectory of life energy onto the canvas.”

Did you know Cedar Valley campus is one of only two Dallas College locations that offer printmaking? In celebration, Cedar Valley’s secondary space, the Sol Gallery, exhibits “Pulled Together”— a printmaking exchange connecting students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Made from the hard work of the CVC Printmaking Department from Spring 2025 through Spring 2026.
 
The exhibition features themed exchange portfolios centered around bookmarks and artist-designed currency. Through acts of exchange, repetition, and collaboration, the works highlight printmaking as a medium of circulation, experimentation, and shared creative experience, reflecting the ways artistic dialogue can build community across campus.

Looking to support local young artists in the Dallas community? 🤝👀 Love live music? 🎵🎤 Enjoy strolling through a gallery with beautiful art on display? 🎨🖼️ Check out Big Thought Creative Solutions Youth Showcase at our North Lake campus! These creatives have spent the summer honing their talents and exploring their artistic voice. This experience is free and open to the public. See it all collectively in North Lake’s A Building.
