We are very proud of the work our program has done working with the Community Foundation and partners such as Modern Jane Solutions. Public and private partnerships are proven to produce results, but not all communities are fortunate enough to be beneficiaries of such endeavors and even fewer able to benefit from having academic programs that can join in the work. Creating partnerships that benefit the community is an essential element of the BSW program at Dalton State and we appreciate the Community Foundation’s trust and willingness to partner in finding solutions that work for our community.
We’ve seen this clearly through a public-private mental health partnership between Modern Jane Solutions, Dalton Public Schools, and community partners, with support from the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia.
In one year, this initiative served more than 250 students and family members, providing timely, culturally competent therapy, often within days, not months.
The mental health initiative with Modern Jane Solutions and Dalton State College is delivering a much needed service within our community built within a scalable system through Dalton Public Schools.
And because the model was built intentionally, it’s now being expanded to additional counties.
When proactive philanthropy funds scalable structure, not just services, you see the community transform for the better.
