The Department of History and Non-Western Cultures will hold an informal gathering for the university community on Thursday, Feb. 20th at 12:30 p.m. in White Hall 122 at WCSU’s Midtown Campus to share memories and celebrate the life of Abubaker Saad, who died suddenly on Monday. Please join us, and feel free to invite friends, faculty, staff and students.

Check out our offerings for Spring 2020! We have two courses, China in the Twentieth Century and World War II.

China in the Twentieth Century Description: This course is an in-depth study of the sociopolitical, intellectual, and cultural transformations in China during the twentieth century. A variety of topics, such as the transition from dynastic systems to the modern state, the rise of Nationalism and Communism, Mao Zedong and the Great Proletariat Cultural Revolution, and the economic and cultural reconstruction in the post-Mao era, will be examined from both Chinese and world historical perspectives.
