Yesterday was another exciting day at Danville Community College as we celebrated the signing of our newest Registered Apprenticeship partnership with First Piedmont Waste & Recycling Solutions!

Under the leadership of Dr. Cornelius Johnson, President of Danville Community College, DCC continues to strengthen partnerships that connect education and industry, create meaningful career pathways, develop local talent, and build a stronger workforce across Southern Virginia.

We are grateful to Mr. Ben Davenport, owner of First Piedmont and a respected leader in our region’s business community, and the entire First Piedmont team for their partnership, continued investment in Southern Virginia, and commitment to developing our region’s workforce.

Special thanks to Vice President of Workforce Services Jessica Dalton and the DCC Workforce Services team for their leadership and dedication in bringing this partnership to fruition.

At DCC, Registered Apprenticeship is about more than an agreement. It is about connecting people to opportunity, helping employers build the skilled workforce they need, and strengthening the economic future of the communities we serve.

We are proud of the momentum happening at DCC and excited about what we are building together across Southern Virginia! 💙⚔️
