We had so much fun yesterday setting up our scarecrow for the Vermilion Advantage Annual Scarecrow Contest! Not even the rain could stop us!

Don’t forget! Our Community Flu Vaccination Clinic is TOMORROW!

Lakeview College of Nursing is partnering with the Vermilion County Health Department to offer a drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on Tuesday, October 6, from 8:30–10:30 a.m. in the parking lot east of the college.

Flu vaccinations are available for individuals ages 19 and older for $43. Medicare, Medicaid, state employee health plans, and most private insurance plans can be billed. Please bring proof of coverage. Cash and checks are accepted, and credit or debit cards can be used with a small service fee.

No appointment is required. Just drive up during clinic hours!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Miranda Shake, MS, recipient of the 2026 HSLI President’s Award! 🎉

This award recognizes an individual whose exceptional leadership, dedication, and service have made a significant and lasting impact on HSLI, and Miranda’s years of service truly reflect that commitment.

Throughout her involvement with HSLI, Miranda has served as President and Secretary and continues to serve as Chair of the Archives Committee and Listserv Moderator. Her leadership, professionalism, and dedication behind the scenes have helped strengthen the organization and support its members in countless ways.

We are especially proud to have Miranda as part of the Lakeview College of Nursing team. Her commitment to helping others and dedication to service extend far beyond our College, and we are thrilled to see her recognized for the impact she continues to make.

Flu season? We’ve got you covered! 💉

Lakeview College of Nursing is partnering with the Vermilion County Health Department to offer a community flu vaccination clinic on Tuesday, October 6, from 8:30–10:30 a.m. in the parking lot east of the College.

Flu vaccinations are $43 for individuals ages 19 and older. Medicare, Medicaid, state employee health plans, and most private insurance plans can be billed. Please bring proof of insurance.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🩷

This month, we recognize those who have fought breast cancer, those who are currently facing it, and the loved ones who have stood beside them throughout their journey.

We celebrate survivors, honor those we have lost, and recognize the nurses and healthcare professionals who provide compassionate care and support every step of the way.

Together, we raise awareness and show our support for everyone impacted by breast cancer.

Last week, we had the opportunity to visit Mrs. Winn’s 5th grade science class at Schlarman Academy during their body systems lesson! 🫁🥽

We shared a little about Lakeview College of Nursing, what our students learn, and how understanding the human body plays an important role in nursing. Students even got to try out our VR headsets and take a virtual journey through the respiratory system!

We loved spending time with the class, answering their questions, and giving them a hands-on look at healthcare and nursing. And an extra special thank you to the students for the thoughtful thank-you cards. We loved reading through each one!

Opportunities like this are a great way to connect with the next generation and introduce young students to the many possibilities in healthcare. Who knows? We may have met a few future nurses! 💙
