Congratulations to MPH c/o 2022 Alum Lydia Amissah-Harris for receiving this prestigious award!!

Congratulations to St. Ambrose alum Lydia Amissah-Harris ‘22 MPH for being recognized as one of the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40! This award honors young leaders making a difference in their communities. Lydia earned her Master of Public Health from SAU, where she focused on maternal health and community wellness. She credits her time at St. Ambrose with shaping her public health approach and providing her with the essential knowledge and leadership skills she uses in her work. Check out this article about the accomplishments of 2 graduating MPH students Kaylin Camidge and Nik Reese! Both of them recipients of the O’Rourke Master of Public Health Scholarship!

The St. Ambrose University Master of Public Health program has awarded the Joseph R. '72 and Joyce O’Rourke Master of Public Health Endowed Scholarship to Kaylin Camidge '25 MPH and Nic Reese '25 MPH. This scholarship recognizes first-year MPH students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to community service, social justice, and health equity.

Camidge, a current medical student at Georgetown University, is completing her MPH during a gap year and has been actively involved in street medicine outreach for Washington, D.C.’s homeless population.

Reese, a graduate of Augustana College, is on track to complete his MPH degree in under a year as well, and currently works with the American Academy of Pediatrics, focusing on public health initiatives that promote health equity for children.

The SAU MPH Program is proud to participate in World Relief’s World Refugee Day Celebration! This event was an incredible way to provide games, activities, and food for refugee families who reside in the Quad Cities! This event was also a fundraising effort to collect household items and other resources that are needed by the families that this organization helps. If you are interested in donating and want to see what items are needed most head to their website
