As Davidson students, Anna Bracco '02, Shelton Steele '01 and Jonny Adler '01 spent many weekends whitewater kayaking on the Gauley River in West Virginia. As a scholar-athlete, L. D. Simmons ‘81 went door to door, recruiting classmates to fill the golf team’s roster. Celebrating a year of purpose and progress! In fiscal year 2026, Davidson College raised more than $87.5 million from donors whose generosity supports all facets of the student experience. Here are some numbers we’re proud to share:

♦️Nearly 40% of alums made a gift this year, putting us in the top three for alumni giving participation nationwide.
♦️The top three finishes don’t end there. Davidson is also on the podium for alumni engagement.
♦️We had 8,715 total alumni donors.
♦️The Fund for Davidson saw a record annual giving total of $23.5 million.
♦️We hosted more than 300 events for alums and families and engaged 4,057 alum and family volunteers.
♦️We raised $18.6 million for direct scholarship support.
♦️We raised over $7 million for our 21 Division I athletics programs.
♦️We added opportunities for connection, including the Women of Davidson Alumnae Weekend, Q***r Alumni Weekend and career initiatives like Mission Collaborative.

‼️ Wildcat Spotlight ‼️ Rev. Dr. Frances Taylor Gench ‘79 retired from Union Presbyterian Seminary this spring after 40 years teaching ministry and shaping generations of church leaders and scholars. This summer, the 227th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) honored her with the Excellence in Theological Education Award, recognizing her devotion to biblical scholarship and teaching. Congratulations, Frances!
