We are proud to present our annual Clinical Eye Care Conference and Alumni Reunion!

Join us for three enriching days of expert-led lectures designed to elevate your clinical practice. This year’s program will cover a broad spectrum of ocular conditions and interdisciplinary topics to ensure a well-rounded educational experience. Attendees can also fulfill mandatory CE requirements for Florida licensed optometrists, including Florida Jurisprudence, Medical Errors, and HIV education.

We are offering 12 Hours of Continuing Education (CE), including 8 Hours of Transcript Quality/Continuing Education with Examination (TQ/CEE), bringing together leading experts to deliver the latest clinical insights and practical strategies in modern optometric care.

This year’s program features a wide range of high-value topics, including rapid-fire clinical cases, secondary glaucomas, and glaucoma management through shared clinical strategies, as well as a deep dive into retinal disease, from pathology to practice. Attendees will also benefit from updates in ophthalmic therapeutics, guidance on retinal decision-making in complex cases, and a timely session on the ocular manifestations of GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications.

We are pleased to announce that registration for our annual Summer Conference is now open! The event is being held on July 26 - 28, 2024 at The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort in St. Simons Island, GA.

The event will feature three lectures designed to enhance your clinical practice by reviewing a wide variety of topics presented by nationally renowned speakers, some of which are our distinguished faculty members. We are offering 16 hours of continuing education (CE) including 16 hours of transcript quality/continuing education with examination (TQ/CEE).

NSUCO alumni appointed to Florida Board of Optometry

Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry (NSUCO) is pleased to announce that two alumni, Dr. Bryan Stam, O.D., and Dr. Denise Burns-LeGros, O.D., FAAO, have been appointed to the Florida Board of Optometry.

The Florida Board of Optometry plays a major role in the State’s ever-changing healthcare space. The seven members of the board work to communicate with the public, legislature, optometry schools, the optometric community, and the Florida Optometric Association (FOA).

Dr. Stam is an optometrist at Couzens, Stam, and Domingo, P.A., and received his O.D. degree from NSUCO in 2000. He is the former President of the FOA and was named the 2023 “Optometrist of the Year”. He has been appointed to serve a four-year term.

Dr. Burns-Legros is an optometrist at Brevard Vision Care. She received her O.D. degree from NSUCO in 2005 and currently serves as the Education Chair of the Brevard Optometric Association. In addition, she also has previously served as the President of the FOA. After being appointed to the Florida Board of Optometry in 2019, she has been reappointed to serve another four-year term.
