A recreation facility where anybody can come to make anything. One person made a bike, somebody else Use passes require an orientation for the studio.

The Craft Center houses ten different fully-equipped studios where you can pursue your chosen craft. The studios include all of the major equipment you will need, and you can check out additional tools and supplies for use in the studios. Studios include ceramics, woodworking, glass, flameworking, jewelry, screenprinting, welding, photography, arts and crafts, and textiles (sewing, weaving/spinnin

g and dyeing). Most multi-week classes include a pass to use the studio while classes are not in session. If you are already skilled in a craft area, and you prefer not to take a class, you can buy a Day Use of Quarter Use Pass to use the studios when classes are not in session. Call the Craft Center to schedule an orientation appointment before you plan to use the studio for the first time. Except for wood and welding, orientations are free. The woodworking and welding studios require a safety review or certification class before use for the first time. You may register for woodworking and welding certification classes as you would for any other class. After the fifth week of the quarter, you may purchase a half-quarter pass at a reduced rate. The ceramics studio and glass fusing area are not available for day use or half-quarter passes. If you register for a class that includes a class pass for a studio, you may purchase a quarter pass to use additional studios for 30 percent off the regular price. Summer Term ended on Friday, Aug 28.
The theme for the summer was the Wild West and we have wildly awesome volunteers, instructors, student managers and staff.
We appreciate everyone making the Craft Center the happiest place to craft!

When a front desk volunteer has extra creative ideas and some extra packing supplies available- this fun building was made of cellulose/packing noodles- even a little tree 🌴

Reminder that we close for summer on Friday. Aug 28 at 7 pm.

If you have any green ware or clay in the ceramic studio- make sure to remove it before the end of the day on Aug 28.
Any leftover clay/greenware will be recycled.

All the studios will be cleaned out.

If you have clay or greenware in the ceramic studio - make sure to remove it by Aug 28- any leftover will be recycled.

Ceramic goblets and glass beads!
Craft Center manager and Ph.D candidate, Max Kelly, offers up a selection of yummy glass beads and ceramic goblets.
The webbing spreading from one corner of the gallery is dotted with candy colored glass beads.
Check it out all the beautiful pieces in the gallery, before we close for the summer on Aug 28

It is hot outside now and before we blink a few times - fall will be here and cozy times.
Want some hygge with a candle or as gift?

We have a couple of spots in the one-day Candle Making class. Students will learn basic poured candle-making.
There will be discussion of wax options, other types of candles (rolled tapers and dipped tapers), and how to clean wax and upcycle wax.

The State of Oklahoma!
The sooner state!
Showing Route 66 and the Blue Whale of Catoosa - an ironic 80-foot long, 20-foot tall roadside attraction, using hand-mixed cement and iron.

Glass fusing student Duckie made the glass fused state of Oklahoma and then tack fused the heart, whale and soda bottle onto the already fused glass.

What is a whale’s favorite kind of sandwich?
A krilled cheese

Crocheting Creatures!

In this Amigurumi class, you will learn the Japanese art of crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The basics of crochet will be covered while completing one creature. Materials for the first project are included.

Class starts Wednesday, July 22- August 19, 5:30-7:30 pm

Cyanotype & Collage starts Thursday, Jul 16, 5-7 pm

Today, July 14, is the last day to sign up for the Cyano and Collage class! Translate your dreams + develop your everyday camera photos into works of surreal art with a combination of Cyanotype + Collage. Together, these two disciplines can help us develop our own “personal printer”, harnessing spatial and visual graphics to make an artistic statement. Cyanotype is both a photographic printing process and a printmaking technique, famous for its deep blue color and for giving us the term “blueprints”. We will experiment with pattern, shape and form to create unique prints utilizing found objects, photographic transparencies, leaves, flowers, and your own designs.
