New year, new faces 👋

Today marks the start of classes at King Hall as we begin the next academic term. This year, our LL.M. program welcomed 15 new students from 12 countries 🌎 These students bring a wealth of international legal experience and perspective, and we can't wait to see how they grow this year.

Meet Thiago, a Brazilian lawyer who joined us this summer for our Orientation in USA and International Arbitration Summer Programs.

Thiago came to UC Davis Law to sharpen his legal English and dive into the U.S. legal system to serve his American clients at his law firm. His advice for prospective students is clear: "Just do it, because it’s quite an experience!"

This summer, we had the honor of welcoming three students from 苏州大学 Soochow University to our English for Legal Professionals and Orientation in USA Law Summer Programs. In these programs, students expanded their legal English skills and explored facets of the American legal system, including trips to the Sacramento Superior Court and San Francisco. We're grateful for our continued partnership with Soochow University, and we look forward to welcoming more of their students in the years ahead.

This week, our International Arbitration summer program group took flight to the UC Davis California Raptor Center! 🦅✨

The California Raptor Center is a dedicated facility focused on the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of birds of prey (or "raptors").

A big thank you to the team at the California Raptor Center for an inspiring and educational afternoon!

This summer, José Manuel Madrazo joined our Orientation in USA Law, traveling all the way from Deforest Law Firm in Mexico.
While at King Hall, he connected with classmates from around the world and learned from our faculty's expertise firsthand.
His advice to future students: "Ask questions and get to know your classmates."
