Congratulations to Sacramento Superior Court Judge Lauri Damrell ’05 on her appointment to serve as an associate justice on the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District. 🔗https://law.ucdavis.edu/news/lauri-damrell-05-appointed-third-district-associate-justice

A Superior Court judge since 2018, Damrell has presided over various civil and criminal trials and other proceedings, including misdemeanor arraignments and sentencing, civil harassment and domestic violence restraining order hearings, and family court proceedings.

Damrell is also a visiting lecturer at UC Davis Law and an adjunct professor at Lincoln Law School of Sacramento.

It has been a year of accolades for Professor Mary Ziegler. Join us in congratulating Ziegler on her election to The American Law Institute (ALI), the nation’s premier nongovernmental law reform organization. In addition, she was recently named a UC Davis Chancellor’s Leadership Professor, a five-year appointment that includes $25,000 in research support funds per academic year.

Ziegler, a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law and Guggenheim Fellow, is one of the world’s foremost experts on the law, history and politics of reproduction, health care and conservatism in the United States.

This week we're welcoming the incoming Class of 2029 for Intro Week. 🎉

The activities began Sunday night with a celebratory Welcome to King Hall Dinner where students took the Oath of Professionalism, administered by California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District Associate Justice Shama Mesiwala ’98. ⚖️
