Evie Ladin, who has been the guest caller at numerous end-of-quarter Campus Square Dances hosted by the Dept. of Music's Bluegrass and Old Time String Band, will be performing with her band, Keith Terry and Erik Pearson, on Thursday, Sept. 3 at Davis Odd Fellows. The UC Davis Department of Music is looking for a career stage manager, who has:
Experience stage-managing a music performance.
Experience working with and leading a crew that has a variety of experience levels, including student crew members.
Experience acting in one or more of the following capacities in a performance setting: light board operator, live-audio mixing engineer, or video technician. Experience operating power tools, hand tools, and pneumatic equipment within safety guidelines.
Experience working with a wide variety of users, including regional, national, or internationally-known artists. Experience using electronic scheduling software, as well as diagram-making software (examples include Vectorworks, OmniGraffle, VISIO, CAD, Google Sketch).

The “National Masterwork Chorus,” which features nearly 70 singers from UC Davis and approximately 20 singers from the Granite Bay High School (directed by UC Davis music alum Susanna Peeples), will perform in Stern Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York on Saturday, June 20 at 1 pm. The ensemble will perform Rosephanye Powell’s "The Cry of Jeremiah" which the UC Davis and Granite Bay singers recently performed at the Mondavi Center. Featuring a guest orchestra and Dr. Rosephanye Powell as narrator, UC Davis Professor of Teaching Nicolás Alberto Dosman will serve as conductor. Presented by the collaborative concert producer, National Concerts, this special concert program likely represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the students performing.

Percussion Ensemble member Jason Pieck will be honored as the university’s top graduating senior when thousands celebrate earning a bachelor’s degree at five commencement ceremonies at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center June 12-14. Pieck will be presented with the University Medal — for excellence in undergraduate studies, outstanding community service and the promise of future scholarship and contributions to society — as well as a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the ceremony at 9 a.m. June 14. Lecturer Matilda Hofman is the artistic director of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble. This coming weekend, June 6 and 7, she conducts two performances of "A Soldier’s Tale & Steam." Featuring members of the UC Davis Empyrean Ensemble, the concert features the world premiere of David Dominique's "Steam" and Igor Stravinsky's "A Soldier’s Tale." Performances are in San Francisco. The choruses of UC Davis — which include both the students and alumni — joined together along with the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra for a rehearsal of Rosephanye Powell’s “The Cry of Jeremiah.” The work will be performed in concert on Sunday, May 31 at 7 p.m. in the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

From digital data and technology to the environment, healthcare and the body, graduate students from across the College of Letters and Science at UC Davis, are pushing boundaries with their experimental research and creative expression. The results, varied in medium and discipline, will be on display at the Arts & Humanities 2026 Graduate Exhibition. The multidisciplinary showcase runs June 4–20 at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art. The opening night reception on June 4, 5:30 to 9 p.m., is free and open to the public.
