Mission Statement:
The Mission of Cal Aggie Camp, the philanthropic arm of UC Davis, is to provide opportunities for undergraduates from UCD to gain work experience, to further develop interpersonal team-building skills, and to actively engage with a variety of people through their involvement in a student-run and funded camp for underprivileged youth in the Davis and Sacramento communities. Cal A
ggie Camp has become a beacon of hope for these children, a life changing experience to the undergraduate camp counselor and a reminder of the positive impact that UC Davis has on its community. Philosophy:
As a student-run and funded part of the University, Cal Aggie Camp invites University of California at Davis (UCD) undergraduate staff members to spend two weeks of their summer in an outdoor program focused on providing inner city, foster, and/or low-income children with an exceptional experience in nature through a residential camp setting. Through intensive training, including an overnight weekend commitment and several meetings throughout the year, UCD undergraduates are prepared to best deal with a variety of complex interpersonal and intrapersonal situations, thus helping each staff member to be navigate the intricacy of any complex workplace s/he may later encounter in her/his chosen career field.
