“Future Teachers Day allows students to come to Wright State and experience what it feels like to be a Raider,” said Jennifer Schmidt, program director for the exceptionalities and intervention specialist programs.

Hosted by the College of Health, Education, and Human Services, the fifth annual event brought nearly 200 high school juniors and seniors to campus to explore the college’s teacher education programs, culture and priorities and connect with current students, staff and faculty.

From goat yoga to root b**r floats, Wright State University put a creative spin on World Mental Health Day on Oct. 1 with activities designed to help students, faculty and staff prioritize their mental health and well-being.

“We are celebrating World Mental Health Day today, so we can show that our community supports mental health,” said Sara Baker, wellness and health program manager in Counseling and Wellness Services. “We are all here to support one another and support our pack.”

You will meet faculty and current students, and learn about academic and clinical training opportunities. Attend one of the open houses, and the SOPP-specific application fee will be waived.

Wright State University’s overall enrollment increased this fall, with 12,157 students enrolled at the university’s Dayton and Lake campuses, a 2% increase from fall 2025 and a 12% increase since 2022.

Nearly half (44.5%) of the first-time cohort are Pell Grant recipients, reflecting the university’s commitment to providing an affordable and accessible education. Nursing was the most popular choice among first-time students, followed by mechanical engineering, psychology, elementary education and biological sciences.
