Hey everyone! Your friendly neighborhood librarian is back with more frequently asked questions! This week's question is can non-students use library services and spaces?

The answer is yes! Residents of Volusia of Flagler counties that can provide a photo ID are allowed to check out materials through a Community Patron Account. Community Patrons can use library spaces and the guest WiFi but cannot use the computers or study rooms, as those require a student ID to reserve.

Calling all manga and graphic novel fans! We have repurposed the library's magazine shelf racks to display a ton of your favorite mangas/graphic novels. If it's a series with multiple volumes, you can lift up the shelf to grab the next book you need! Don't see your favorite manga? Hello everyone! Your friendly neighborhood librarian is here with another FAQ post!

This week's question is the following: what is a library database, and what materials do they have?

The answer is a library database is an online collection of curated, published materials across different subjects. The materials are high-quality and peer-reviewed. They include academic journal articles, e-books, magazines, and newspapers. The DSC library offers 80+ databases that can be accessed via our website which is library.daytonastate.edu!

Ran out of battery while studying? Did you know you can check out technology and equipment from the library?

This week's FAQ question is what technology and equipment can be checked out from the library?

The answer is that the library has phone chargers, headphones, noise reduction earmuffs, web cameras, corded mice, and a Cannon EOS Rebel T5 Camera for check out!
