Students from Embry‑Riddle’s residential campuses worked together to test hydrogen-powered drone technology for a project sponsored by Honeywell Aerospace Technologies.

For project GHOST, the two teams divided efforts through fuel cell integration and performance modeling as they worked on an alternative to traditional battery and gasoline-powered systems.

To prepare for the upcoming 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, Meteorology professor Dr. Josh Wadler is working on new ways to fly drones inside the storms to harvest data that could help predict when, where and how strongly they will hit.

Following his experience with repeatedly flying into storms aboard Hurricane Hunter aircraft, Dr. Wadler is expanding his research by integrating his team's drone data into the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast models for the first time this season.

“I originally came for the balance of school and athletics, but I gained research opportunities, internships, leadership roles and a close-knit academic community that invests in student success,” shared Kenley.

Applying her background as a collegiate athlete and her expertise in data science, Kenley has graduated with flexible skills that make her valuable as she shifts her interests toward sports analytics.
