On November 12, 2024, the Department of Criminal Justice was provided the opportunity to recruit individuals interested in criminal justice at Jones High School in Orlando, Florida. It was an awesome turnout and a wonderful experience. As our professors spoke to several students, some applied right at the table, some went to admissions to apply, and several signed up to stay connected. We extend our gratitude to Jones High School and Ms. Felder for this magnificent opportunity. Thank you Dr. Xavier Burch and Dr. Ronald Williams Sr., for inspiring, enlightening, and encouraging prospective students to attend this esteemed University and exceptional department. An early congratulations to our incoming Wildcats!

The Department of Criminal Justice and Center of Law for Social Justice had the pleasure of hosting Special Agent Brandon Robinson as our Professional Seminar Speaker. With insightful tips, wisdom, and powerful information, Special Agent Robinson shared with the students the path to successfully attain a position in federal and local law enforcement, enlightened the students of the United States Forest Service, and encouraged the students to achieve their dreams and to believe in themselves. We thank Special Agent Robinson for uplifting and enlightening our students at this amazing University!

Bethune-Cookman University's Criminal Justice Students traveled to South Africa! The students had the unique distinction of being the first group of American university students to participate in a ground-breaking program, as well as the first HBCU to receive this specialized training. This endeavor was planned, in part, by B-CU's Department of Criminal Justice. Three years in the works, this trip is part of the Department’s broader mission to develop a Certificate in Criminalistics/ Crime Scene Investigation. The department would like to recognize and give thanks to the university, Dr. Miron Gilbert, Dr. Kideste Yusef, and Dr. Ronald G. Williams Sr, for providing this opportunity for our students! Lastly, thank you Mr. Salvador Victor for capturing these amazing and historical moments! Hail Wildcats!

On this past Friday, August 23rd, the Department of Criminal Justice held its first Fall 2024 Professional Seminar to welcome and welcome back our new and current Criminal Justice Wildcats! With over 250 outstanding students in attendance, the department spoke on the importance of work ethic and standards, acknowledged our amazing students, alumni, and faculty, and promoted various opportunities that are available at this illustrious university! Through the understanding of ‘Faith’ and ‘Belief,’ our Criminal Justice family looks to positively continue on our journey to greatness!
