Last week, the Office of Academic Advising hosted our annual Major Exploration Panels for First Year students. First Year students were able to hear from upperclass students about their respective journeys to declaring their majors. It is always great to see Scotties supporting and learning from each other. Huge thanks to our panelists and the SUMMIT Peer Advisors! šŸ’œ

Catch Dr. Jessamyn, director of advising, wearing red today to celebrate our seniors. All hail McQueen, as the kids say.

Weā€™ve loved wearing the cohort colors this week, and canā€™t wait to find out our yellow class mascot.

Weā€™ll wear purple tomorrow to show our Scottie spirit! Happy Black Cat Week! šŸˆā€ā¬›

Haaaaveee you met Tan?

Ms. Tanzania Nevels is our transfer advisor and works to specifically support Agnes Scottā€™s transfer student population. Sheā€™s your go-to for all transfer student needs. This week is National Transfer Student Week and the perfect time to get to know Ms. Tanzania and transfer students tonight peers.

Meet her and other transfer students tonight at the Transfer Student Meet and Greet.

Tonight, October 23 at 5:30-7 pm in Luchsingerā€™s Lounge

There will be pizza, desserts, and raffles for several Charis Bookstore gift certificates and ASC swag bags.

Ms. Tanzania was a transfer student herself and shares the following:
ā€œAs a former transfer student, from Mott Community College to the University of Michigan-Flint many moons ago, I understand first hand the challenges and opportunities that come with starting in a new academic environment. This experience shaped my passion for supporting our ASC transfer students. I love helping them find community, confidence and a true sense of belonging as they continue their educational journey.ā€
