It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Dr. Paul Stanley, who passed away on Aug. 5, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, and a deep commitment to the cultural life of Decatur, his hometown.

Alongside his wife, Shirley, Dr. Stanley was a steadfast friend of Millikin and played an important role in many initiatives, including bringing the Center for Theatre & Dance to life. In recognition of their commitment, two spaces in the Center bear their names: the Paul and Shirley Stanley Small Conference Room, and the Paul and Shirley Stanley Classroom.
