⚡ “Justice is not a spectator sport.”

This morning, August 28, 2026, Bro. Mark E. Jackson, 43rd Grand Basileus of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., addressed thousands gathered at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. for the March on Washington 2026: Defend the Vote.

Held on the 63rd anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington, today’s mobilization calls Americans to defend voting rights, protect civil rights and equal opportunity, and advance economic justice and dignity for every community.

Standing on what he described as “hallowed ground,” Grand Basileus Jackson reaffirmed Omega’s commitment to justice, equality and the unfinished work of the Civil Rights Movement, urging those gathered to stand up, make their voices heard and continue the work.

“The work continues, and all hands are needed.”

Today, we honor a pioneering scientist, scholar, and visionary whose groundbreaking work in biology helped advance the world’s understanding of cellular development. We are eternally grateful to our first Faculty Advisor, who joined his vision and genius with that of three undergraduate juniors in the founding of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
