It is the policy of the Board of Trustees of Richland Community College to acknowledge that social media plays a

n important role in the lives of the community, students, faculty, and staff. Richland Community College will maintain official social media sites to support the College in accomplishing its mission and vision, achieving its goals and objectives, and advancing the College’s Core Values. The President or designees shall be responsible for disseminating public information about the College through the use of official College sponsored social media. Richland Community College encourages feedback and comments from our followers, which include prospective students, current students, alumni, staff and members of the community. We remain committed to maintaining these sites as a safe and family-friendly forum for sharing information. In the spirit of maintaining a positive environment to our site visitors, Richland Community College reserves the right to remove any comments or wall postings from official college-sponsored pages that are inappropriate, inflammatory or damaging to Richland Community College or any individual. The final Farmers Market of the season is coming soon - September 16, to be exact!

From 3 PM - 7 PM, local vendors provide a variety of fruits, vegetables, honey, soaps, lotions, artisan crafts, meats, bakery items, jellies/jam/salsa, candles, scents and more! The market accepts LINK/EBT cards.

Vendors will be both outdoors and indoors (with AC) at the Michael D Andreas Agriculture Building. Mark it down on your calendar! 📅

The sixth annual Operation Obstacle is coming up quickly! Register now for the 2-mile, 25-obstacle race on September 19.

The event will be held at the Workforce Development Institute building on Richland's main campus. Check-in & same day registration run from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. The Welcome ceremony starts at 10 AM, and the race begins at 10:15 AM.

This race was created to raise awareness of veteran su***de and is held in coordination with the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs Su***de Prevention Team and Richland Community College. After completing 20-25 fun physical obstacles, each finisher will receive an honorary challenge medal, goodie bags, snacks and water. Special awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers.

Anyone interested in simply going through obstacles without the pressure to compete can register for the non-competitive fun run.

Proceeds support Richland’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC). Register today by going to richland.edu/operation-obstacle

Tomorrow is the perfect day to enjoy donuts & coffee at Cars & Coffee! Come to the Workforce Development Institute on Richland's campus to walk through a variety cars, trucks, and motorcycles between 8 AM - 11 AM. There is no cost, and you can bring anything on wheels.

Interested in joining our Board of Trustees? Nominating petitions for people seeking election to the Board are now available by appointment or electronically.

The positions on the Board of Trustees which will appear on the ballot in this election are two full six-year terms for seats currently held by Maryann Albers and Vicki Carr. The nominating papers may be filed with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees from Tuesday, November 16, 2026, through Monday, November 23, 2026, electronically or by appointment.

The election will be conducted Tuesday, April 6, 2027.
