Earlier last month, students from our One-Year MBA Chicago cohort heard from Mike Zoller, a sales team lead at Chicago-based Sprout Social, Inc. The trip focused on learning practical AI thinking in order to do a job better and build on your strengths.

Zoller shared that his teams use AI tools to pick the 10 accounts to reach out to each day out of perhaps 800 in a book of business while also discussing the importance of AI review with every task.

The adventure continues... 🌏

The Executive MBA Class of 2027 visited Principal, a global financial services company that helps individuals and businesses build financial security through retirement solutions, investment management and insurance. Students gained insight into the role financial institutions play in helping people and organizations prepare for the future.

They also spent time at Central Market and visited the Universiti Malaya Faculty of Business and Economics. As Malaysia’s oldest university and highest-ranked university, Universiti Malaya offered students another perspective on business education.

Business, culture and academia all in one day. 🌏

Our Executive MBA Class of 2027 got down to business in Malaysia. 💼

At DXN, a Malaysian-founded global wellness company, students learned about its international business model, which spans the cultivation and manufacturing of health supplements, functional foods and beverages, and personal care products. 🌏

At the Securities Commission Malaysia, students explored the country’s capital market regulatory framework and learned about Islamic banking and finance, gaining perspective on how financial systems operate within different regulatory and cultural contexts. 📈

The day concluded with a dinner and leadership discussion hosted by Datuk Maznah Jalil, an NIU alumna from 1977. Her perspective offered students a meaningful connection to the university’s global alumni community and an opportunity to reflect on leadership.

From global business to capital markets and Huskie leadership, the day connected classroom learning with real-world insights.

Welcome to Malaysia! 🇲🇾

Our Executive MBA Class of 2027 began their Malaysian experience with a truly special welcome from NIU alumna Datuk Noripah Kamso, Class of 1979.

Noripah warmly welcomed the cohort to Tanah Embah Heritage House, her family’s home first built in 1939, where she personally curated an immersive experience introducing our students to the history, culture, and traditions of the region. The day included a guided tour, traditional lunch, a village tour, and high tea. 🍛☕

Students also had the opportunity to hear directly from Noripah about her leadership journey and experiences in business and society. As a distinguished NIU alumna and member of the NIU Alumni Association Board of Directors, her connection to our university made the experience even more meaningful.

A new country, a new perspective, and a warm welcome from one of our own Huskies. 🌏💚
