Join us for this first of (what we hope to be) many collaborations with our friends at Haverford Township Free Library. Let's carry our ancestral stories and lived experiences forward, together.

Join the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Delta Mu Omega chapter, for this special afternoon presentation from advanced researchers in their Genealogy Squad THIS SUNDAY at 2:00 pm.

Though it is well-documented that many Black Americans find it difficult to break through the 1870 “brick wall” of census data and enslavement, these women have persisted and done so successfully. Come hear more about their remarkable discoveries and a few of their notable ancestors, and learn some tips and tricks of the trade to get you started on your own genealogical journey. Library staff will be on-hand to provide details on the genealogy resources available on-site for the public.

This program is made possible through a partnership between the Library and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Alpha Delta Mu Omega chapter

Registration is required through our website: https://delcolibraries.libcal.com/event/17689131

RAIN DATE ACTIVATED! Postponed, but not deterred. We hope to see you all tomorrow for ADMO’s first Adopt A Highway service day at Mt Lawn Cemetery. In addition to the needed clean-up gear, we’ll have snacks and a tent for you to take breaks, as needed. Weather will be a little warm, but not like last week’s downpours, so we hope you can come assist in this effort…for all or part of the designated time.

Please enter Mt. Lawn at the main entrance on Hook Road (coming from Philadelphia/ Lindbergh Blvd). You will see pink and green balloons as well as a police car. Registration link in bio.
