The Department of Classics at Ohio Wesleyan University The social media home of OWU Classics. Classics is the study of ancient Greece and Rome, in particular the ancient Greek and Latin languages and literatures.

Classics majors and minors study ancient Greece and Rome through direct access to the rich tradition of Greek and Latin literature in a variety of genres: epic, lyric and elegiac poetry; tragedy and comedy; ancient history and philosophy; classical mythology and religion. am is headed by Dr. Lee Fratantuono, and also includes Dr. Serena Witzke, in addition to its many majors, minors and friends of the department. In addition to its curriculum, the program is actively involved on campus, promoting events such as speakers, marathons, movie nights, receptions and tutoring.
