Piedmont University Piedmont University (est. 1897) has campuses in both Demorest and Athens.

Founded in 1897, Piedmont University is a comprehensive liberal arts institution and also offers a variety of career-oriented majors, including education, business and nursing. Total enrollment is approximately 2,600 students on campuses in Demorest and Athens, Ga. The Demorest campus is a traditional residential campus located in rural Habersham County, and the Athens campus is designed for commu

ting students and is located near downtown Athens. Both campuses offer a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, including education specialist programs and an education doctoral program.

Dr. Michael Friedline made homemade pizzas, meatballs, salad, chocolate pound cake, and carrot cake for his celebration with psychology and neuroscience graduates. Please be advised that we are currently experiencing a comprehensive, system-wide outage of the Canvas Learning Management System. This is a global issue affecting Canvas infrastructure, not an issue specific to the university’s network or anyone’s personal account. We are actively monitoring the situation and awaiting an update and explanation from Instructure (the parent company of Canvas). Do not open any emails from Canvas or attempt to access Canvas at this time until an email is sent that it is ok to do so from Piedmont’s IT Department.
