The Power of *Noticing*
💭🤔Have you ever considered how "noticing" can be linked to our *overall wellness*? . . . As humans, we all experience negative thoughts at times. Instead of trying to push negative thoughts away or letting them take over, we can learn to pause and observe these thoughts from a distance—just NOTICING them-- like watching clouds float by. ☁🌤

🌈*Noticing* is more than just 'paying attention'—it’s about creating space between ourselves and our thoughts. When we notice a thought, we’re not reacting to it or letting it define us; we’re simply acknowledging its presence and allowing it to pass. Noticing a thought is the first step to managing it.

Have YOU 'spotted' the Spotted Lanternfly lately?! If so, be sure to (yup. . . ) SQUASH ‘EM! They don't bite-- but they're an invasive threat to our agricultural crops.
If you haven't seen these before, learn what to look for-- then destroy them if you can (don't use pesticides-- see the fact sheet posted in the comments) and report it to MDA online:

WHAT's this got to do with UME??? . . In Extension, we cover alllllll sorts of topics and issues. Across the state (and the nation), some of our faculty and staff cover or specialize in areas such as:
entomology (the scientific study of insects)
plant science/botany (study of plants)
pest management (these SLFs count as pests)
agriculture and natural resources (so many impacts!) . . and more!

⚠️☃️ Love it or hate it— the snow is here! Remember to clear snow away from any vents that might be on the sides of your house (furnace, gas lines, water heaters, dryers, exhaust vents) — when they get blocked, dangerous gases can build up in your home. ⚠️

Think about your neighbors, too— do any of them have conditions or circumstances that make it harder for them to get outside to clear their vents, shovel their walkways, or clean off their cars? 💕
