The College of Arts and Sciences offers bachelor’s degrees in 20 departments and over 45 areas. We also over 30 graduate degrees, including seven doctoral degrees. New students to the College enter a culture of scholarship in which faculty research and creative accomplishment inform teaching and learning. Opportunities for student learning abound through classroom interaction, online courses, internships, community service work, study tours across the country and around the world, independent study, participation and leadership in student organizations, and more. Students in the College of Arts and Sciences are educated to understand our global community in which people of the world are interconnected and are interdependent. Graduates are prepared as professionals for leadership positions in their fields of study, and as responsible global citizens—informed about societal issues and problems, with the commitment and expertise to work collaboratively to solve them.
