This week's is Kimberly Guevara, a undergraduate student double-majoring in and public policy, who first came to the University of Denver in 2021 before serving as a missionary in Colombia for the next two years. Guevara returned to DU in Fall 2024, where she started to understand her fields of study: “Economics is everywhere - education, schools, urban planning, health, policy and so much more. This field can help answer many questions and when practiced ethically, it can help in uplifting communities," Guevara said.
Guevara's career goals include seeking more equitable economic systems, drawing from her experiences in and Colombia. “I want to work across the globe to help communities access resources that allow them to have better livelihoods and increased economic stability through education and employment," she said.
