Working with local organizations and civic partners, CU Denver students proposed innovative solutions to help revitalize Colfax, one of Denver's most recognizable corridors. From pocket forests to cleaner energy and improved transit, their ideas demonstrate the power of collaboration to strengthen our city.

Some journeys come full circle.

For Sarah Shoulak '13, that journey led her back to CU Denver as a keynote speaker for The Phoenix Center at Auraria this past spring.

Sarah is an author, speaker, artist, nonprofit co-founder, and advocate whose memoir, "Dead Serious: How Death Made Me Laugh at Life," explores resilience, healing, and the unexpected ways life's challenges can shape us.

Her connection to CU Denver extends beyond the classroom. As a student, Sarah participated in a study abroad program in Beijing that helped launch a career spanning technology, marketing, coaching, and public speaking. Years later, after publishing her memoir, she returned to campus to share her story with the next generation of students.

"What a full-circle moment. This is what I wanted to do with my voice. Now I get to go back to my alma mater as a keynote speaker."

CU Denver alumni can mention this post to receive one free private coaching session or $100 off a speech or workshop facilitation.

We're excited to share that CU Denver has received a $3.25 million grant from the Reisher Scholars Program at The Denver Foundation in celebration of the program's 25th anniversary.

This investment will expand scholarship opportunities and personalized coaching for Colorado students over the next two academic years, helping more learners persist, graduate, and achieve their goals.

CU Denver has partnered with the Reisher Scholars Program since 2001, and together we've supported 455 students on their path to earning a bachelor's degree.

Thank you to The Denver Foundation and the Reisher Scholars Program for investing in the next generation of Lynx.
