The girls of Alpha Phi share a rich history, dating back to 1872 when Alpha Phi was founded by ten forward thinking women at Syracuse University, and it is now one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities in North America. Our special bond as sisters in Alpha Phi drives us forward as a chapter. In each other we find love, support, strength, fun, and lifelong friendship. Our sisterhood is our true connection, and the friendships made at Alpha Phi will last a lifetime! Symbol: the Ivy leaf

The Iota Xi chapter at DU is one of five Panhellenic sororities on campus. Phis are always excited to participate when the Greek Community comes together in various events like Greek Week and Greek Service Days.

Meet Lexie & Sawyer! 🫶🏼✨ A friendship that started before college and has only grown stronger through Alpha Phi!

“We met before school even started while looking for roommates. We ended up choosing each other, and before we knew it, we were inseparable.

When recruitment came around, we promised each other we wouldn’t talk about which houses we wanted. On Bid Day, we both ended up choosing Alpha Phi, and it has given us some of our favorite memories together. Somehow it even runs in the family because our Bigs and Grand Bigs are also best friends and roommates!

From walking to chapter together from our dorm, getting ready for our first formal, to DoorDashing tacos after Big Man rehearsal, Alpha Phi has been a constant throughout our friendship.

Although our friendship didn’t start with Alpha Phi, it has brought us even closer, and we’re so excited for everything still ahead of us! “

Meet Ali & Elin! 👯‍♀️🤍 Two seniors in Alpha Phi whose friendship started before they even knew they would become sisters!

“We met during O-Week freshman year when we realized we lived just two doors down from each other in the same dorm. We both went through recruitment and ended up finding our home in Alpha Phi together. Being in the same sorority brought us so much closer and has given us so many of our favorite memories throughout college.

From living together sophomore year in Nelson with six of our Alpha Phi sisters, to studying abroad together in Italy and traveling all over, to endless ski days, hiking and camping trips, we’ve been lucky enough to experience so much of college side by side. And now, three years later, we’re living together again in our senior year house!

As we start our senior year, it’s so special getting to look back on everything we’ve done together since those first few weeks of freshman year. It’s definitely bittersweet knowing our time in college and Alpha Phi is coming to an end, but we’re so thankful for everything it has given us, especially a friendship that we know won’t end when college does! 🥹🩵”
