Next up on our Hometown Tour: Boulder, Colorado! Hear from incoming senior Katherine about growing up in Boulder, why she chose DU, and how going Greek has shaped her college experience and given her a community she’s so grateful for!
“Boulder holds such a special place in my heart, and I’m so grateful to have grown up there. I love being outside whether I’m hiking, camping, or skiing, but also love spending time in the city trying new restaurants and activities. Boulder is the perfect mix of both!
I originally never wanted to stay in state for college, but looking back at my past three years at DU, I know I made the right choice. I chose Denver because it offered one of my majors, socio-legal studies, and for the amazing study abroad opportunities.
Although I’m closer to home than most, I was still looking for a community as a freshman. I was never set on joining a sorority, but as soon as I met the girls in Alpha Phi, I knew joining would be such a meaningful part of my college experience. I’m so grateful for the friendships and memories Alpha Phi has given me and truly don’t think I would have had the same experience at DU without it.
Joining a sorority has given me so much more than just friendships. I’ve had opportunities to grow, get involved, and gain skills I’ll carry with me long after college. I’ve served as Director of Chairs for VP of Recruitment and VP of Health, Wellness and Accountability, and now serve as Director of Public Relations for Order of Omega, DU’s Greek Honor Society. Greek life has positively influenced so many parts of my life, and I’m so proud and grateful to call myself an Alpha Phi. 🙂↕️💫♥️”
