CU Denver Department of Communication

CU Denver Department of Communication We are a vibrant community of teachers, learners, and scholars committed to creating a more humane and equitable world.

The Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Denver enriches understanding of the roles of communication in everyday life, organizational settings, and public affairs. While the roots of the study of communication trace back to the ancient arts of philosophy, rhetoric, and aesthetics, its contemporary practices speak to the opportunities and dilemmas of participating in a globalized, mediated, and multicultural society.

This week, CU Denver Communication welcomed guest speaker Monica Escudero for a thought-provoking talk,

Drawing on decades of work in biomechanics and human performance, along with 20+ years of study and practice in intuitive work and animal communication, Monica invited our students to consider how we interpret information beyond ordinary verbal and non-verbal cues.

The conversation touched on what science already recognizes about communication, behavior, sensory perception, meditation, and brain activity, and then opened up a bigger question:

It's the kind of curiosity that sits at the heart of our discipline: communication begins with presence, observation, and a willingness to listen closely.

Thank you, Monica, for sharing your perspective with our COMM community! Follow her work here: https://www.facebook.com/rodasii831
