Congratulations to Hali VanVelzen for being named the Master of Public Administration Student of the Year! She received her MPA and completed the Certified Public Manager designation from Drake University. She is a lieutenant with the Des Moines Fire Department, where she has served since 2016! Congrats Hali!

Congratulations to Cade Friedrichsen for being named the Master of Science in Business Analytics Student of the Year! He graduated from the University of Iowa with dual degrees in Finance and Business Analytics, and completed his Master of Science in Business Analytics at Drake University recently. He now works as a Financial Analyst at Principal Financial Group! Congrats Cade!

Congratulations to Emma Lynne Ihrig for being named the Master of Accounting Student of the Year! She graduated with a BSBA in Accounting from Drake University in December of 2025, and graduated this May with her MAcc! She will be joining Honkamp Krueger & Co. P.C. as a staff accountant this June. Congrats Emma!
