Meet Zaki (Zac) Rohan Karimi, a well-rounded Highline College student pursuing an Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering.

At just 18 years old, he's already built an impressive resume at Highline College. He balances being a Running Start student, tutor across multiple disciplines, Campus View resident assistant, IT technician for the college's ITS department, student leader, and aspiring electrical engineer. He plans to make the most of his experience at Highline before graduating by summer 2027.

Last week, Cultural Anthropology (ANTH& 206) students learned from elders of the Blue Heron Canoe Family, gaining insights into Coast Salish art, including cedar weaving and traditional designs.

Through hands-on learning and gift-making, students connected with the traditions, knowledge, and enduring relationships between Coast Salish people and this land.

Special thanks to Michael and Karen for leading this workshop and sharing their knowledge and teachings.

Hey, T-Birds! Have you noticed the beautiful fall leaves changing color around campus?

We might be diehard green and blue fans, but there's no denying the orange and red are a nice combination too🍁🍂

T-Birds, we hope your fall quarter is off to a great start so far and that your group projects are going smoothly. If not, send this meme to someone who needs to see it. Wishing you the best of luck with your classes! 😉

🚅🖼️Have you checked out the Kent Des Moines light rail station directly across from Highline College recently?

There’s a new permanent art installation on the north side of the station’s main entrance called Texture of the Sound, created for people who experience art through touch. Seattle artists Charan Sachar and Sarah Kavage collaborated with Sound Transit and Highline College, including staff members Jenni Sandler and Raman Kaur, along with three students who are blind or have low vision. It’s the first tactile artwork Sound Transit's Art program has developed.

Special thanks to Sound Transit and Highline's Program Manager for Accessible Technology, Michael Hanscom for providing some of these photos.
