Today is the LAST day to register to vote online at mi.gov/vote or by mail for the Aug. 4 Primary Election.

Starting tomorrow, you can only register in person with proof of residency at your city/township clerk’s office, up until 8 p.m. Election Day.

The is currently hosting 10 glorious sculptures from The Stories of Us Talking Drum collection. Stop by the Woodward lawn to view and take a self guided tour. Each sculpture responds to themes exploring the past, present, and future of the United States, creating a collective reflection on identity, memory, resilience, and the unfinished work of democracy.

Dr. Richard D. Benson II has been named the inaugural director of the Detroit Center for Black Studies at Wayne State University. Coming from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Benson is a nationally recognized scholar who will lead the Center with a focus on expanding interdisciplinary scholarship, fostering faculty collaboration and strengthening connections at the university, in Detroit and broader public conversations around Black studies. Welcome, Dr. Benson!
