🎭 Welcome home, Marcus Neville!

We were thrilled to welcome back University Detroit Mercy performing arts alum Marcus Neville, who stopped by to visit the Black Box Theatre! Marcus attended UDM from 1979-1981 and has gone on to have an illustrious career in the arts, including serving as an original cast member of both The Full Monty and Kinky Boots, among many other accomplishments.

During his visit, Marcus shared why spaces like the Black Box Theatre remain so important for today’s students putting them at the heart of the learning experience.

“As an artist, it forces you to listen to the other actors. It forces you to pay attention to what is going on around you,” Neville said.

We’re always happy to welcome our alumni back home and hear how their Detroit Mercy experiences continue to shape their careers. Thank you, Marcus, for stopping by and sharing your time and wisdom with us! 💙❤️

The black and white photo shows Marcus when he was a student at the University. Next to him is David Regal who was Artistic Director and Chair of the Performing Arts Department.
