This spring, the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences celebrated the final graduating class of its Radiologic Technology program. These graduates leave behind a legacy of compassionate patient care, clinical excellence and dedication to serving their communities.

For nearly two decades, the program prepared radiologic technologists who combined technical expertise with a patient-centered approach to care. As the final cohort crosses the stage, we honor not only their accomplishments, but also the faculty, clinical partners, alumni and supporters who helped shape generations of professionals.

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Craig Miller, a 1994 graduate of our Physical Therapy program, as part of our Friday Faces of Applebaum series.

Craig’s journey into PT began after recovering from a high school ACL injury, his experience inspired him to help others regain mobility and independence. His time at Wayne State provided the foundation for a rewarding career filled with patient milestones and leadership roles, including APTA-Michigan Legislative Director and Chair of the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy.

After nearly 30 years in the profession, Craig says the most rewarding part has been working alongside dedicated colleagues and making a difference in patients’ lives.

Congratulations to Kathlene “Kiki” Rodgers of Nie Family Funeral Homes in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti on being elected president of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association.

Rodgers is both the youngest president in the organization’s history and only the fifth woman to hold the position. Her achievement reflects a strong commitment to leadership, service and the future of the funeral profession in Michigan.

Thanks to a generous equipment donation from Klarity, students in the Radiation Therapy Technology (RTT) program at the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences are gaining expanded access to the tools and technology used in today’s cancer treatment environments.

This donation strengthens learning opportunities and helps prepare future radiation therapists to deliver high-quality patient care.

This week, we are proud to introduce Nella Bieszk, a 1991 and 1999 graduate of our pharmacy program, as part of our Friday Faces of Applebaum series.

Nella turned curiosity into an extraordinary career journey. Rather than following a traditional path, she embraced new opportunities, completing a managed care residency at Henry Ford, contributing to formulary decision-making, and discovering the Medical Science Liaison role within the pharmaceutical industry.

Today, Nella collaborates with national health plans and pharmacy benefit managers, leading real-world research that helps answer critical questions about medication safety, effectiveness, and patient outcomes.

Her story is a powerful reminder that there is no single path in pharmacy: curiosity, flexibility, and lifelong learning can open doors to impactful and rewarding careers.
