In the fall of 2001, fourteen men came together with the desire to change the face of Wayne State University forever. The Men decided that a Fraternity that catered to the needs of Latino males was the best tool to highlight the Latino Community at Wayne. After an obscene amount of research the choice was clear, Lambda Theta Phi would be coming to the heart of Detroit. However, after only three we
eks only two men remained interested in the dream of changing their University. Oscar Calito and Anthony Puente worked diligently through the academic year to bring a new Fraternity to WSU. However, they maintained in contact with MI Sector Board and Brothers from the Alpha Omicron Chapter in Ann Arbor over the summer in hopes that the following year would bear the fruit of their hard labor. That summer, three men joined them in desire to found the seventy-second chapter of the Fraternity, which would later become Gamma Kappa Chapter, "Warriors of the Midwest". They showed every characteristic of a conquistador. They commenced the journey to become Lambda Men. On November 16, 2002 four men were found standing at "El Infierno En Los Lagos" and came out truly conquering a process made only for the strong. Alpha Line, "The Four Elements" of WSU Colony are founding brothers "Fuego," Ulysses Hernandez; "Viento," Gerald Romero; "Tierra," Oscar Calito; and "Agua," Anthony Puente. In fall 2003, the first official interest group of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc., WSU Colony was established. Men who sought to wear the letters Brown and White. On February 28, 2004 three men successfully crossed through the burning sands to claim ownership of the oldest Latino Brotherhood. Beta Line was comprised of Hugo "Enduro" Martinez, Pablo "Equilibrium" Sanchez, and Hugo "Centrado" Mota. In the summer of 2007, yet more gentlemen demonstrated interest in joining the most prestigious Greek letter organization catered to the Latin culture. These gentlemen were Gamma line, comprised of Misael "Alacran" Perales and Alonso "Veterano" Steele. In the cold winter months of 2008, yet more gentlemen seeking to become better men and leaders of the community began a journey to the Land of Victory, "heaven for the fighters, hell for the quitters, Lambda Land." These gentlemen came and conquered the brotherhood of Lambda Theta Phi. Delta line, "Los Bandoleros" was composed of Adonis "Dicipulo" Flores, No. 1; Mario "Coatl" Ledesma, No. 2; and Jose "Rampage" Hernandez, No. 3. The latest conqueror of this most rewarding process overcame the abandonment of his peers. In the winter of 2009, Epsilon Line, composed of Nestor "Lone Star" Sanchez, No. 1 became an untouchable brother of Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity Inc.
