Allison Sherman of Lake Orion won the women’s event in the Detroit Free Press Marathon presented by MSU Federal Credit Union on Oct. 18, 2026.

The University's enrollment this fall has reached more than 6,000 students, its highest in 26 years.

With nearly 700 first-year Titans joining UDM this fall, the official enrollment at the University is 6,007.

Fall 2000 was the last time the University had more than 6,000 students total across its campuses.

Detroit Mercy Alert: At around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday an employee reported seeing two packages outside of the Student Union on the McNichols Campus that looked suspicious.

After an investigation by the University Public Safety Department and Detroit Police Department, the packages were determined to be non-threatening. All classes and activities will resume as scheduled tomorrow.

Michigan's first Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) program is coming to CHP!

Built for healthcare professionals ready to move into leadership, education, administration, policy or law, the DMS is:
✔️ 100% online and cohort-based
✔️ 30 credit hours, completed in 15 months
✔️ Designed so you can keep working while you earn your doctorate

The Leadership and Healthcare Administration concentration of the program covers team leadership, change management and the operational and financial side of healthcare organizations. More concentrations for the program are expected soon.

The first cohort starts January 2027.

The University's Memorial clock tower is 99 years old 🎂

The iconic 175-foot tall landmark not only for the University but also in Northwest Detroit, the clock tower was dedicated on Oct. 8, 1927 in memory of the school's 12 students and alumni who gave their lives during World War I.

The University will host the 21st annual Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit (GLBD) Conference on Thursday, Oct. 15 on the McNichols Campus.

The redesigned one-day conference will bring together community members of all ages to discuss critical environmental and social challenges, with this year's theme centered around, "Revolution from the Heart of Nature: Change Makers."
