As we celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday, we honor the men and women whose service has protected our freedoms and made opportunities possible. We’re especially grateful for members of the Mayville State family whose military service reflects the dedication and sacrifice that strengthen our nation.

Access to education and the opportunity to learn, lead, and make a difference is one of the greatest gifts of freedom. This Fourth of July, we celebrate the enduring connection between freedom, service, and education, and the bright future they make possible.

Happy Independence Day from Mayville State University! ❤️🤍💙

Mayville State University has earned an “A” rating from the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) for excellence in preparing future elementary teachers to teach reading.

This distinction highlights MSU’s strong alignment with the science of reading, ensuring graduates are equipped to teach the five essential components of literacy: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. With early literacy playing a critical role in lifelong success, we’re proud to be part of the solution, preparing educators who are ready to make an impact from day one.

Congratulations to our Division of Education faculty and students for their commitment to evidence-based instruction and literacy leadership across North Dakota and beyond!
