The Suzanne McGraw Scholars Program is helping bring that vision to life. Launched this year through a historic $9.3 million gift from the Suzanne McGraw Foundation—the largest philanthropic investment in Mercy’s history—the program removes financial and experiential barriers by providing full tuition funding and paid classroom experience.

Mercy University has been awarded an $875,000 grant from the Higher Education Capital Matching Grant Program (HECap) to create a centralized hub for student services and modernize campus facilities at its Westchester campus.

The grant, administered by the DASNY - Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, will fund common area furnishings such as seating and tables, state-of-the-art technology equipment and residence hall furnishings for the Mercy Hall/Founders Hall complex as part of a $3.5 million comprehensive renovation project Mercy is undertaking to streamline student support services and enhance student engagement.

On July 31, Mercy University celebrated the completion of the High School Scholars and Influencers (HSSI) Program. With an inaugural cohort of nearly 20 students, Mercy's HSSI Program launched in 2024 and was designed for Bronx high school students who dream of giving back to their local communities through careers in nursing.

The HSSI program offered these aspiring nurses the opportunity to take college courses as a high school student and earn 25 credits at Mercy University, mentoring from experienced nurses, acceptance into Mercy’s nursing program, and the ability to graduate in 3 years with a bachelor’s degree.
