👨‍🏭 Learn the Fundamentals of Welding at Wallace Community College! 👩‍🏭

Whether you’re a home hobbyist, farmer, DIYer, or simply someone who has always wanted to learn how to weld, Wallace Community College’s Introduction to Welding course is a great place to start! 🧑‍🏭

This hands-on course introduces participants to the fundamentals of Stick (SMAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding, giving you practical skills you can use around the farm, home, garage, or workshop.

📅 Class Begins: November 14, 2026 (No class Thanksgiving weekend)
📍 Available in Dothan and Eufaula
🗓️ 4-Week Course – Saturday Mornings
⏰ 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
💲 Course Cost: $400
📌 Application Deadline: November 6, 2026

🚛💨 Workforce Development is on the move!

We are excited to introduce Wallace Community College’s new CDL Simulation Training Trailer!

This mobile training resource will allow WCC Workforce Development to take CDL education and career exploration beyond the traditional classroom.

🎓 Supplement hands-on training for our CDL students
🏫 Visit area high schools and career academies for career exploration
🎪 Participate in career fairs and community events
🤝 Provide annual safety and driver refresher training for industry partners
🚛 Introduce more individuals to careers in transportation and logistics

Whether we're training students on campus or taking the simulator into the community, our goal remains the same: provide quality workforce training that meets people where they are and helps prepare the skilled workforce our region needs.

We can't wait to put this new resource to work throughout the Wiregrass! 🚛🎓

Wallace Community College is excited to kick off new Dual Enrollment Welding courses at Rehobeth High School this week.

Students will have the opportunity to earn college credit while gaining valuable hands-on experience and learning skills in welding, cutting, blueprint reading, and much more.

These are skills that can open doors to high-demand careers and help prepare students to enter the workforce with a strong foundation.

This recognition represents exactly what workforce development should be about, taking training beyond the walls of the College and bringing it directly into the community where it’s needed most.

⚡🌙 Family Night in Our Lineworker Program!

One of the most rewarding evenings of our 8-week Lineworker Program is Family Night. Parents, spouses, children, and friends have the opportunity to see firsthand the skills their loved ones have worked so hard to develop.

From climbing poles to performing hands-on electrical tasks, our students demonstrate the knowledge, confidence, and professionalism they've gained throughout the program.

This week's training takes place at night because power outages don't only happen during the day. Our students train in realistic conditions so they're prepared to respond whenever their communities need them, day or night. 🌙

A big thank you to our instructors for preparing the next generation of lineworkers and to the families who support these students every step of the way.
