Thursday, the Douglas Rotary Club heard from the SGSC Book Chat Club. The club began on the Waycross campus and in the Ware County School System but members would like to provide books for kindergartners in the Coffee County School System as well:

Blazer Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Gregory Tanner '94

We’re proud to spotlight Dr. Gregory M. Tanner, a 1994 graduate of Valdosta State University, where he earned master’s degrees in Physical Education and Educational Leadership.

Dr. Tanner was recently named President of South Georgia State College by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Throughout his career, he has served as a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent, and higher education administrator, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to student success and educational excellence across South Georgia.

We love seeing Blazers leading and making a difference in education and their communities. Congratulations, Dr. Tanner, on this outstanding achievement!

Opportunities like this provide invaluable hands-on experience for future teachers while making a positive impact on students in our community.
