Alexander Varsity Football’s Tribute to Dr. Yvonne Neau:
During the month of October when we honor those courageous people who are currently
fighting breast cancer and celebrate with those people who have beaten breast cancer, it is also a reality that breast cancer still takes the lives of thousands of people every year. The Alexander Cougars football community would like to take a moment to recognize a dear Cougar family member, Dr. Yvonne Neau , who passed away on January 19 th from Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Dr. Neau’s son, Preston, plays on the Cougar varsity football team as the starting tight
end. Dr. Neau’s family, which includes her husband Michael, her daughter Marianna, and her sons Christian, Tristan, and Preston, along with Preston’s girlfriend MaCardie Haven, are on the field to join us in honoring her.
We also honor Dr. Neau’s Mother, Lidia Kraj, who passed away 6 weeks after Dr. Neau’s death, from pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Kraj was a two time breast cancer survivor as well.
Dr. Neau was a highly respected member of the Douglas County community as a loving wife, mother, as well as a caring physician to her patients. She was an avid supporter of the football team for many years. She also worked closely with the Alexander girls soccer team as a trainer from 2017-2019 while her daughter Marianna was the starting goalkeeper for the varsity team those years. Her fighting spirit while battling metastatic breast cancer for almost 7 years is
something the Alexander athletic community takes its strength from every day.
Everyone here at Alexander High School gives our condolences to the entire family for their tremendous losses, and we thank them for sharing their beautiful souls with our community.
