Delaware’s Capital City QUES beginnings:

In September 1946, four men expressed interest in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. This interest developed into an authorized initiation under the supervision of the Second District Representative, Brother Mifflin T Gibbs. Hardcastle, Wayman Scott and W Richard Wynder all became pledgees of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Brother Theodore Wells was appointed neophy

te commandant by the District Representative. Brothers Leroy Easterly, Richard Walker and Eldridge Waters assisted Brother Wells in the initiation process. Chamberlains for each neophyte was chosen from Mu Chapter in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to the day of initiation, due to health reasons, William Fountain, dropped out. The Formal initiation of the three Neophytes was held on the third Weekend of October 1946 in Philadelphia, PA through the office of the National Executive Secretary, Brother H. The three new members were assigned to the Graduate Chapter located in the Third District of the Fraternity. Through the efforts of Brother Gibbs and Brother Moultrie, the three new men and the chapter were reassigned to the Second District. Brother James C. Hardcastle, Brother Wayman Scott and Brother W. Richard Wynder became the Founders of the Psi Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Psi Iota was the FIRST Black Greek Lettered organization in the state of DE. Psi Iota's undergraduate chapter is Psi Epsilon - which is campused on Delaware State University, Dover Delaware.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

The Second District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Health Initiative & Awareness Committee encourages brothers, families, and communities to make prostate health a priority.

Black men and veterans face a higher risk of death from prostate cancer. Early detection can save lives. Talk with your doctor about your individual risk, when screening should begin, and whether a PSA blood test is appropriate for you.

It’s been a busy weekend for the Brothers of Psi Iota!

Our brothers came together to support a local Book Bag Drive, helping ensure that students have the supplies they need to start the school year off on the right foot. 📚🎒

We also had the opportunity to welcome students back on their first day of school, standing alongside our Bro. Corridor Representative to greet, encourage, and inspire our youth as they begin another school year.

We’re proud to continue showing up, giving back, and investing in the future of our community.
