As a Poultry Service Technician Intern with New Generation Poultry Service, Victoria Lichtenwalner '26, worked directly with pullet and layer flocks, monitoring their growth and health while learning to identify diseases that can impact poultry operations. She also gained valuable experience conducting state-mandated testing for diseases such as Avian Influenza.

Beyond the technical skills, one of the most important lessons she gained was learning how to communicate effectively with the farmers and producers raising the flocks. Building those relationships is an essential part of providing quality poultry service. Victoria has been asked to stay on with the company after graduating this coming fall! Congratulations on turning an internship into a promising career opportunity.

Chloe Hartman '28 had the opportunity to complete a unique internship with URBN’s Terrain this year, focused on developing a native plant management program. As part of the internship, Chloe partnered with Brandywine Conservancy, spending half of her time learning about their education programs and working alongside their land conservation team. During the second half, she developed internal team trainings on native plants and created a native plant garden at Terrain’s flagship location to encourage customers to incorporate native plants into their own landscapes.

Throughout the experience, Chloe also had the opportunity to visit native gardens throughout the area, including a visit to the DelVal campus for the Bowman Hills Native Plant Conference. This hands-on experience allowed Chloe to deepen her knowledge of native plants, conservation, education, and sustainable landscaping while contributing to a new initiative at Terrain.
