Let us join in the chorus of those praising Linda Bruno as she celebrates 50 years teaching in the Dryden School District! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰
TC3 President Amy Kremenek and CollegeNow Enrollment Coordinator Rhonda Kowalski came to the Dryden Teachers Opening Day ceremony, where Bruno was honored. In addition to her half century in the classrooms at Dryden, she is one of our original concurrent enrollment instructors (CollegeNow), working closely with TC3 so her students could earn college credit while in high school. And just last year, Bruno won the Friend of the Community College Award from the New York Community College Trustees - a statewide recognition of her decades of advancing the cause of community college education.
She is a true Dryden treasure! πŸ’œπŸΎ

As most students are moving back onto campus in preparation for the start of classes on Monday, one group has been in the classroom for the last three weeks. Today marked the end of the EOP Summer Bridge Institute, and the group celebrated this morning with a special guest - New York State Assemblymember Anna Kelles. She congratulated the students and encouraged them to be civic-minded and use their voices. She listened as each student spoke about their summer experiences and their goals for their time at TC3 and beyond. With goals ranging from simply making new friends to playing professional baseball to starting the path to become a doctor or lawyer, the Summer Bridge Institute helped this group develop the community and form the bonds that will support them along their journeys. πŸ‘

The Micron Regional Summer Chip Camp returned to TC3 earlier this week with nearly 100 rising sixth and seventh graders from around the region taking part in three days of STEM activities.

Campers did some fun hands-on experiences, including building small robots, coding LED traffic lights, exploring the nano-sized world, creating multimedia art, and transforming everyday objects into computer controllers. In addition to sessions led by TC3 faculty, the camp welcomed local businesses to campus for a STEM Expo where campers learned about career paths while taking part in entertaining experiments and activities.

The Chip Camp was sponsored by Micron, TST BOCES, OCM BOCES, and TC3. πŸ₯Ό πŸ”¬ βš›οΈ
