We are excited to announce the launch of the EBBA Webinar Series, a new monthly program dedicated to bird banding, avian research, and more! This series will bring together researchers, educators, and experienced banders from across the ornithological community to share their expertise.

Our inaugural webinar will feature EBBA president, Dr. Annie Lindsay of Powdermill Avian Research Center presenting:

Wildlife Technology students John Bruner, Cas Wheat, and Tristan Samland ran a full day of radio telemetry workshops at the recent 4-H Wildlife and Forestry Field Day. When Wildlife Technology faculty were unable to present at the event this year, these three students volunteered to take over the instruction. The annual event allows 4-H and FFA members to participate in hands-on workshops and interact with professionals in forestry and wildlife conservation. Participating members can take a Wildlife or a Forestry exam for the opportunity to compete at the national level. Great job wildlifers!

The Scientists in Parks (SIP) program officially opens applications TODAY, May 11 for the winter cohort!

Every year, SIP places hundreds of college students, recent grads, and early-career professionals in national parks across the country to support real-world natural resource projects. One position might have you mapping sand dunes at Fire Island National Seashore, surveying towering cacti at Saguaro National Park, or helping protect nesting sea turtles at Padre Island National Seashore 🐢🌵🌊

Are you looking for a turtle-y awesome PAID internship experience? If so, then you should apply for one of two Sea Turtle Internships through the Student Conservation Association!

Two interns between the ages of 18 and 24 will work with the Sea Turtle Science and Recovery Division at the national seashore. The interns will contribute to the conservation of Kemp’s ridley, green, and loggerhead sea turtles through care and monitoring of sea turtle eggs and the release of hatchlings. Interns will analyze unhatched eggs in a laboratory setting. Individuals may have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing data analysis, report writing, and other assignments related to nesting and stranded turtles as available.

This internship is from August 3 – October 30, 2026 (We apologize -these dates are not negotiable!). In addition to the $600 a week living allowance, the internship also offers free coed housing and an education award upon completion of the full internship!
