Today, we joined the walkout organized by .duke. .mrm member spoke about the raids happening in Puerto Rico which are targeting Dominicans and Haitians. She spoke about the history of US intervention in the Dominican Republic and how those same tactics of fear and repression are being used against our communities today.

From 1916-1924, US Marines occupied the DR. They trained Rafael Trujillo, who used surveillance, detention, and torture to repress Dominicans for three decades. Today, ICE is using that very same fear against our communities who left the DR.

For decades, the country that created the precursors to our migration has been policing our existence.

We’re demanding:
🔸 Protection for ALL students regardless of documentation status
🔸 An end to militarized violence against our communities

Hands off our Latine communities. Hands off Latin America. Hands off Palestine.
